Ouch!
soooo its official, both turbos need to be replaced. both are leakin oil pretty good, oil has gone alllll the way through the intercoolers and the turbos scream like a dentist drill when they're cold. the mech used the special UV dye and everything even tho its clearly obvious the oil cooling lines were leaking due to the nice shean down both sides of the car. the mech is close friends with one of my close friends so he's going to hook me up as much as possible and squeeze every penny they can out of my extended warranty company. just thought i'd share my wonderful news with everyone here. i'd love to upgrade to KO4s but its no where near my budget right now and it would void my warranty anyway. dont worry i asked just in case but whatevs. 109k miles
the good news tho, i got my 6000k bulbs and chrome ambers in the mail today along with my headlight restoration kit so i can finally do my clear corner mod thing and make my headlights a little newer lookin. annnd new o2 sensors and with the tax return expected in the next week and pay day tomorrow i can get my new egt sensors and coolant expansion tank which cracked. man this car **** the bricks quick and i've only owned it since novemember! it will be a beast soon, once i get the basic maintenance done of course
Mine have only made the drill noise once, im just down to like +/-13 psi.
I have the turbos but theres ALOT more i want to get first. JHM transmission rebuild, ASP downpipes & AWE twin1, ER intercoolers, 034 track motor & transmission mounts, Diff mount, wheel bearings, airbag controller, 02 sensors, EGT sensors, Valve cover gasket & cam seals, Head gaskets, front and rear main seals, controll arm kit, clutch & flywheel
and thats just stage 3-
My registration expires in March so by then it will be off the road. I just got back from a month long vacation so im just getting back to work so i can buy some of this crap. Iv also got my tax return coming and a big snowplowing check at the end of the winter. It sucks working a seasonal job and not getting consistent pay in the winter when i SHOULD be spending it on my car, and then working and pulling my car apart right wen the good driving weather starts!

i need new egt sensors for my car too. i tried ordering them from avalon last night since so far they seem to be the cheapest(522 for the pair) but they've been on back order for the past 2 months and expected to stay on back order for another couple weeks. since they're causing my car to run in limp mode im only running 5psi but i think thats kind of a good thing considering my turbos are about to shiz. id like to do the jhm tranny rebuild as well, i get a little grinding going into 3rd gear sometimes and its a little hard to shift from 1st to 2nd...like i said everything wants to break all at once.
I know, I would like to try to get the fueling and the fmic before I put the Ko4's on but I don't think they'll last that long. I'm buying an fpr and GIAC stage 3- ecu to hold me over. + I want to buy some tranny upgrades before going full stage 3.
Some say you can bolt the Ko4's up and be fine. I talked to Jason at JHM when I ordered my turbos and he said it'll be fine but if I get throttle cut then I need to replace my N75 and it'll be fine. Others say that it'll run like crap without the stage 3- and fpr. Mrpeterparker over on Audzine did some logs with just Ko4's and the with the stage3- tune and it was night and day difference. Either way his injectors are hitting 150% duty cycle which kinda freaks me out but there are plenty of people running stage 3- and have no issues.

Ya those logs really opened my eyes. Im going to have to run stage 3- for a couple weeks at least before i go to EPL and get it tuned. With the FPR and stage3- tune its not bad.
You can just put in k04's with inlets and a stage 3- chip but i want full power, lots of noise, and low IAT's. A transmission that can shift fast, smooth, and hold the power. And a motor i know isnt going to leak oil any time soon. Theres alot i didnt mention too...
I got an rs4 clutch and did the t-belt 15k ago but i know the RS4 clutch is gonna get **** on with a custom tune, dumps, and W/M so i want to change to Southbend or Clutchmasters. Doing the timing belt again too. My transmission likes to grind going into 3rd too, its just those mo ****** synchros.
