Default ouch!!! these codes hurt!!

so i went to the track yesterday and while i was running i got a ses light.. didnt think anything about it but maybe misfires from running to rich.. so i go ahead and run a few times and still hit a 12.9 with cel on.. get home and find these codes..p0341 and p1347. all about cam codes and stuff.. havent done vagcom yet.. and get this. warm idle vacuum is at 14 inches of mercury.. so somethings not right.. was thinking possibly timing belt jumped a tooth or cam adjuster is bad.. ima do some testing tomorrow with vagcom and see whats up...

so.. if the cam adjusters stop working does this sound like a feasible problem that could occur?? i really think that a cam could be off as well.. i ran it pretty dang hard.. hot lap after hot lap.. i think the belt and tension-er just gave a little bit.. ill have the front clip off and know whats up with the timing by tuesday.. if its good ill look cam tensioners and such.. i guess ill double check the sensors as well..

sounds like it; have you replaced the tensioner recently?

so.. try to hear a boost leak, as my tools are limited at home.. i dont hear anything.. so i decide to snoop around the cam adjusters. thats were i notice timing belt fragments.. fibers and cord. get the cam covers off and geezz... belt is frayed and loose.. and off a tooth..

i hate being right sometimes..

i've heard of guys skipping a tooth or two and being fine, if you're worried then run a compression test

Default No bent valves!!!

so i pretty much talked to a few guys and they told me the same thing.. off two teeth.. gotta just throw a belt on there and see what happens.. well. put on a belt, lined it up.. new tensioner, guide and everything.. fired up and purred like a kitten. no issues. no misses. pulls hard like a beast.. so apparently your belt can jump two teeth without bending a valve. so just an fyi so you all know.. lol...

Go back to the track now Have you ran it at the track previously? If so, what did it run?
