Overheating symbol
Ok, so I took my car into the shop because my transmission locked up. They went ahead and stress tested every component, and found that the only thing wrong was that the slave cylinder collapsed. They replaced the clutch and both cylinders. Today, I get the car back, and whenever I drive it the check engine light comes on, along with the moving "thermometer" symbol, which says that it means that my car is overheating. Well, this symbol comes on 10 seconds after starting the car, even if it has been off for 2 hours, which is ample time for it to cool down, so there is no way that it's actually overheating. The temperature gauge never goes above half way, which is what it's always done. What do you guys think it could be? The guy that did the transmission work said that I needed to bleed the air out of the cooling system by loosening something on the thermostat while the car was running and letting all the air flow out. Does this even sound reasonable? Please help me out...I've been without my car for 3 weeks, and I just bought it a month ago, I've been screwed and tricked by an audi dealer, and I'm just getting really sick of the whole mess. I would really appreciate any help/insight into my problem. Thanks!
Sweet! that fixed that problem. The shop forgot to connect them I guess. However, the check engine light is still on. I went and had the codes pulled, and it says "Speed Idle Air Control" "Air/Fuel Control" and "Bank o2 sensor". Im assuming the shop forgot to connect this stuff as well, so if anyone could tel me where the sensors for these things are located, that would be great. By the way, it is a 2001 S4 with 80,000 miles.
Ok, I did some digging around and found this loose connector by the firewall. Does it have something to do with the o2 sensor? I see a similar connector on the passenged side, but it's hooked up to what looks like an o2 sensor. I can't find anything that the loose connector should hook up to though. Could you please tell me where the thing it plugs into could be?

Also, at the risk of sounding stupid, but I found this hose that was leading to nowhere

Im new to Audi's so I don't know, but is this just a coolant overflow hose, or is it supposed to actually connect to something?
It comes from the coolant container, seen here:

Thank you very much for your help!!!

To be sure you can take the cap off the resivore theres a drain hole in the grove that goes around the outside of the main fill hole you can pore alittle water down there to tell if thats what that hose is for. sorry the discription sucks.
That first pic is a connector for the 02 sensor- look around for another loose connector that looks like that one, It has to be there
And yes, that hose is for the coolant overflow, nothing to worry about there
I would also suggest you NOT take this car back to the shop that did these repairs again

I take it that connector is for the rear o2 sensor? See, what happened was that I took it to an audi dealer that took the car apart and said i needed a new transmission and wanted to charge me $9600. I then had the car towed to a local transmission shop that said all that happened was that the slave cylinder collapsed, so they already got the car when it was taken apart. Im not really blaming them for some things not being put together since they got it in pieces. I'm blaming the audi dealer because they lied to me and tried to get and easy $10k from me. I've looked everywhere though, and I don't see the loose connector hanging anywhere. The second o2 sensor is right before the cat right? Maybe the connector is down there dangling around somewhere? Again, thank you very very much for your help!
