Hey i no this question has been asked a lot so be easy on me. but i was wondering whether the dv and tbb would be needed to take off the car when i bring it in for service for the timing belt.

if your taking it in then let them do there job they will remove what required

Maybe he's trying to sneak in a few new parts so they don't charge him extra?

i still have the warranty but want to chip. getting the apr chip so they wont be able to tell i got it and can put it in stock mode. but im upgrading the dv and tbb. so i was hoping those dont have to come off or they wont notice them
