Just thought I would see what y'all thought of my latest purchase...I get it tomorrow - It's a black '02 s4, fully loaded, w/ gray leather and 34k on it. I picked her up for $24,900. I thought it was a smart buy, car in perfect shape. WHat do you think? I drove it once and had to take it home. I am a little concerned about the reliability of the car in the freezing cold in upstate NY, being that it's high performance and all.. Do I have anything to worry about? I am going from an '04 jeep grand cherokee which was a beast in the snow, but I understand the s4 is also. Oh yea, I also threw brand new all season high performace tires on it. Let me know what you think!

Nothing to worry about, Audi's belong in the cold. That's where they feel at home! Congrats.

 

Here she blows - I took it on a 200 mile drive back to school today.. what a dream. About 5 minutes into the drive, a red mazerati (looked brand new, '03/'04) pulled up along side of me, and a red bmw 330i (an '04 from what I could tell) pulled up behind me at the same time. Having limited manual tranny experience, I opted not to race, and just watched as the mazerati waxed the bimmer. Give me some time and Ill be right on that mazerati's a$$, while the bmw is eating my dust. [:-]

lol...yeah time and a new chip perhaps (to keep with the Mazerati)....I've actually taken a B5 S4 in my 330 once - but under special circumstances...I got a great launch...it was uphill...and he had 3 passangers...still it was a satisfying win...normally I would smoke a 330 in my S4...much is driver (and situational) dependent however...

 

OK, got another update. Took the s4 (its stock) out for a spin on i-87 in upstate ny with a few friends. I cruised with an acura rsx (exhaust, intake), a wrx (exhaust, chip), and a stock volvo s40. Long story short, i wasted the s40 and rsx on 40 mph rolls, 60 mph rolls, 80 mph rolls, and 100 mph rolls. The wrx and i were pretty even, although I think he had a slight edge on me. Being that I have owned this car for 2 days, have about 4 hrs of manual tranny experience, and have never owned a fast car in my life, I think i faired pretty well. They were all experienced drivers and were very impressed with the power of my stock s4.
