my friend has a 996 turbo and just upgraded his brakes to a big brake kit and is looking to sell the stock ones hes got.

would they fit on my 02 s4 and would they be worth it?

Definitly an upgrade over stock, im sure you could find a rotor that would fit but you might have to custom fabricate a caliper mounting bracket... Depending on how much he would sell them to you for, If it ends up costing you about the same as a good BBK though just go for the BBK.

I think he can use the Mercedes sl or cl500 rotors.

A BBK usually costs from $2000-$4000. The more reasonable end being ECS 993TT brake kit at under $2000, then various 4 piston calipers put on different sized rotors like stop techs, and up at the moore expensive end are the 4 + 6 piston calipers with big rotors, Alcon/Stasis and Brembos are as low as $3000.

I would assume the new 996 has better brakes than the 993, but the downside is making your own caliper mounting brackets because its not a kit for the s4.

Currently on ebay 996 turbo Calipers are at $1200 and rotors are $600-$800 new.

Me? Im saving my money for the smallest 6 piston kit from alcon/stasis.

Personally I don't like used brakes so I would hit up a new kit.

Hey, if you want to do a photoshoot of your new ride, hit me up.

You need the caliper bracket, & custom hats for rotors.

The rear will not fit, & if you get it to fit, there will be no e-brake.

Best bet, if he is selling the calipers CHEAP, resell them, & pick up the ECS kit, that comes with everything you need. MAKE SURE YOU DO THE REARS! If not, you WILL have way to much front bias!

If you want a GREAT BBk for the Audi, spend the money on some Stasis/Alcons.
