Default power steering fluid

I'm a new Audi owner... and I love this car... i got a 2002 Audi S4...

Just curious... I can't seem to find where the power steering fluid is located... I can't find it in the manual either.

I've also heard that you're supposed to use one kind of power steering fluid. Anyone know what it is?

it's the reservoir on the driverside, towards the front of the engine. it's pretty close to the coolant reservoir.

I just use ye ole generic autozone fluid. I doubt there's anything special about our PS pump. I wouldn't be surprised if it needs fluid brewed in the pyramids of ancient Egypt though, considering it is an Audi...haha.

yeah pyro, i just went down to the indian pyramids in Brazil to get my PS fluid. apparently it's a little more high performance. And of course if you call Audi everything you do has be Audi. I bought PS fluid from them and it was 22dollars. Cause the Kragen brand of fluid was no good Audi said it would ruin everything. but it's only what a 1.50 or something. anyway i think if you buy a good oil from any parts store you should be fine. 2k you probably know, any input?

wow that's a noticable increase. I split the plane ticket with someone if they want to pick up about 300 cases of fluid. Does anyone know any drug cartel type. that could run this for us.

I don't mind being a PS fluid mule. We can drain my blood and pump my body full of it. How much is everyone willing to pay for this, because I can have a plane ticket ready in 24 hours, and be back within 2 days? Let me know!

NO, NO, NO!!! It is Pentosin fluid, that is why the cap is green. Any other fluid mixed in there is VERY bad. It's in the owners manual. The container is metal can with green on it, the stuff is not cheap. Make sure it's German stuff, half the writing on it should be in German.

I'm not sure, but the PS cap might tell you what fluid to use.

You can put PS fluid, or ATF in there. But the system needs to be completely cleaned out first.

Lol. Our cars are supposed to take a "synthetic mineral oil type" power steering fluid. Thats why it's $25 a liter all the synthetic minerals....
