Problem with B5 Alarm.
My car alarm keeps going off even if i don't lock the car, as if i press the panic button but im not. Sometimes it doesnt make any noise, the lights just blink like the emergency button is pushed. I figured it was probably the remote ******* up and i have a spare so i took out the battery of the old one. And it still does the same ****. Also i cant seem to lock and unlock my car the same way. The remote buttons sometimes work but it doesnt make the sound that its fully locked. I get in the car and it says that my trunk is open but it's definatelt closed cuz i opened and slammed it shut like 50 times. The alarm doesnt go off while im driving the car but i cant lock the car from the inside, i press the lock button on the door panel and it doesnt do anything and if i try to push down the lock thingies on the door, its nearly impossible. So what can be the problem? The Trunk door hinge or the whole airlock system itself?
Upon further inspection and a really long night. I noticed that sometimes when i put the key in the ignition, the doors unlock by itself and then when i take out the key, it locks automatically. Also sometimes if i start the car, all my windows open and my a/c turns on to exactly 71 degrees. It doesnt do these things all the time but it happened randomly throughout the night, i have no clue why, but the locks are working, so does that mean that the central lock module can't be failing? I thought it was the remote going crazy because i had my ecu programmed to open all the windows with the remote. So does anyone think it could be the ecu with some fucked up coding?? I can't take the car to any shop because its thanksgiving and i have to put up with this throughout the whole day.
when your car alarm is going off, are the windows somewhat cracked or open when this happens? That car has an interior monitoring system so if wind or a bug flies in, it could trigger the alarm. Probably not the case but its good info to know
return of the audi electronic gremlins, my s4 sketched out like that off an on with the locks locking and unlocking a few times if you hold the unlock button for too long or turn the key for awhile in the lock on door i know it drops the windows and maybe opens sunroof all also locks and closes all windows if you hold it in lock for 10 ten secs
the problem is fixed.. i read up on older threads and this happened before to some people. the lock pump module just got wet due to heavy rain and there was unplugged hole next to the module for some reason. i plugged it and let the module dry out and everything is back to normal except i had to reprogram my keys, which wasnt a problem.
