My radar detector goes into full laser alert everytime I go boost bast 2000RPM's has anyone had this problem?

thats weird. double check your electrical connections if they're hardwired in. could be a power surge from the alternator or a short

 

Is the V1 really better then Passport??

It is not hardwired. should I look into that??

 

V1 is better (depending on how new it is) then the 8500. but the 9500i (which is what i run) if better in my opinion then the V1! who cares where the cops is, the 9500i sees the threat sooner so you can react, by the time the V1 tells you where its coming from its to late

 

I was looking at the 9500ix specially since passport will give me 80- for my 8500!

 

the passport is better than the V1. most cops cant even tag you unless the threat is coming straigh towards them so most cops will be in front of you. the v1 is awesome dont get me wrong but the passports have a longer ranger therefore better imo

 

Iv used both and i would tend to diasgree, i think the V1 is much better. The only thing about the high end passports thats better than the V1 is that you can update it with speed camera locations.

 

you can update with speed camera locations, it has gps so you can make your own speed traps and it will warn you in advance of them, it shows your speed on the detector itself, female voice to tell you of an alert!!! looks better, longer range, oh and when a threat is detected the female voice will tell you "k-band alert your speed is xxx" (oh yea thats 3 x's for the 100th spot lol)
