Default problems with short throw shifter

i just installed a short throw shifter kit in my 2000 s4.. feels really good and throws are nice and tight.. but when i accelerate at WOT, then shift from 1st to 2nd at 7 grand, the gears want to grind and not accept 2nd gear.. is there an adjustment i can make? ive tried about everyone possible that i know.. maybe lengthen the stalk a little? idk..

are you sure your degree's are accurate for the angle of the shift lever? worst case could be your synchros going bad

^^^yup! Synchros, same thing here after my neuspeed shifter. The first thing I did was put a snub mount in, then get a DTS, then if that doesnt help, replace the synchros with these

you'll also see the new ratio 6th gear...might as well do this while the tranny is out.

Sadly its probably synchros.

6th gear is pretty expensive considering the rebuild kit is only like $1100
