Default regarding fog lights...

Hello,

I recently purchased a 2001 Audi S4. I understand that it has fog lights both in the front and rear. The manual specified that in the rear only the one on the left side turns on.

My question is in the front does also only the left side turn on or are both left and right suppose to turn on? Currently only the left fog lights turn on both in the front and rear. Seems kind of strange to have two lights in place but only one to be operational in the front.

Thank you for the help.

yea both fronts are supposed to turn on. Probably just need a new bulb. Now would be a good time to go in and wire up indpependant fog lights. Make a nice loook when its not to dark on but its good to ride with some lights on.

why would you want to?? unless you have a major wiring problem and your switch is broke the here you go, fit a 2 poll switch (off and on) in the dash then wire the fogs to a switched live fuse (switched live means it only works when the ignition is on) the switch acts a a live breaker and the ground goes to the chassis

You could mount some purple neon under that bad boy too!

Thank you for all the replies.

I'm going to switch the bulbs and see if that works(which I hope they will because that would be the least expensive of the solutions).

avant80@2.6, saying i am new to the automotive world would be the biggest understatement in the thread. . I know close to nothing about cars. Then again I've never really had the opportunity to own a fine vehicle like I do now so all I was concerned with in the past was pretty much that it gets me from point A to point B. However, i've been reading more and more on this forum and am finding the information very helpful(and also confusing at times because I don't quite know all the terminology).

ChiTowNS401, believe me, if I could delete the threads I would have done it right then and there. it is probobly much more annoying to me since every other time I type a post or a thread on any forum for that matter, i end up submitting three times(don't know why the computer does that). usually on the other forums I have the option to delete the thread/post, but it really doesn't exist for me on this forum. i looked at the FAQ and it seems very simple...excpet that i don't have the 'delete' option. strange.

thanks for all the help
