Default to resonate, or not to resonate....

that is the question.
sorry am sure this has been touched on a million times, believe it or not I was not able to find a good thread on it through the search. Im hoping to get some good honest opinions on the cons and pros performance wise (IF any), and also the difference in the sound. Id like a deeper sound, but nothing obnoxious, so which is the better way to go from personal experience.
Im of course thinking of the Milteks, but also the Neuspeeds which only come with resonators, I believe.

thanx in advancce
nic.

I put the Milltek resontated on my '05 B6 about six months ago, and I also got the Milltek downpipes. The shop that put them on for me does a lot of work on S4s. They had two B6s at the shop getting coil-overs. One had the res, and one had non-res. To be honest, the difference in the sound wasn't as great as I thought it would be. I went with the resonated b/c I thought it had a more sophisticated european sound to it. I get compliments on my resontated all the time, and my neighbors can still tell when I'm coming and going from the neighborhood. If you can't decide, I would go with the resonated b/c you won't be dissapointed. A funny story: I was on a date a few weeks ago, and we were pulling out of a parking garage. My date put the windows down, b/c she liked the way the exhaust sounded. Now that's a good woman!!

Ah...she is a keeper!

I get inquires about my exhaust system all the time...People seem to like it....I know I do. Miltek full back resonated on a b6 s4
Resonated has some extra air baffels or something to that effect, that quiets the system a bit. If you want max volume go for the non res.

The difference is that the non-resonated systems eliminates the two center mufflers. Check this link out: http://stratmosphere.com/milltek_s4_exhaust_b6.htm

there are 2 types of resonators
1 is the air feed/filter feed diameter
2 is the exhaust/resonator box

both are designed for silence and work together in providing luxury driving which is what the car was made for,

to remove the res box from the exhaust system increases sound an minor performance but it feels good and sounds nice ish,

to remove the res box from the induction system ( mods to the air induction pipe size as opposed to air feed ) then this is a different question
