rs4 clutch questions
ok so im going to put in the rs4 clutch and the lightweight flywheel on my 2000 s4, i was just curious to know if anyone has done it themselves and if so how long did it take and if you could give me any tips that would be appreciated, also a small step by step if anyone remembers, i am a mechanic i just want this to go as fast and as smooth as possible. Thank You.
Alright I got you. It took me about 16 hrs, and I was hung up for nearly a week cause of parts and l was going semi slow. So don't start sweating yet. First, you are going to need the cork gaskets that go between the front driveshafts and the tranny, right where the boot goes in, it is very hard to not rip them while pulling it out. Also if you want to get the metal gasket between the downpipes and the back of the turbos. Finally, check your cv boots and if they have any question now is the time to do them as well, ecs tuning has a boot kit on their website. Plan on having trouble with the dp's and their heat shields, and the bottom hex head bolts on the tranny, the part where you have to jack it up, l cut a allen wrench and used a ratchet wrench to rig up a tool. Other things will slow you down but those ones killed me. Oh and I did it on maxed out jackstands (height wise) so that was naturally frustrating, but that's how I roll. Any other q's let me know. Oh and good luck.
