Runaway vehicle! (acceleration)
Strangest thing this morning on my way into work...Runaway acceleration onmy '93 S4 (RS2 setup by MRC) like as if the gas pedal was weighed down by a brick and it wasn't my floor mat or anything like that. I had to turn off the car and coast, brake, and compete with the unpowered steering. A safety nightmare you could say. In between shifts the tach would be reving up to 7000 rpm. I tried turning it back on to see if it was an ECU thing, but it was still happening. I'm thinking a failed fuel valve somewhere? Has anyone experienced this? I checked the throttle cable and it seemed to be moving just fine.
I got this once on my '99 A6 Avant. and it was a known thing at the dealerI forget what it was. I heard of the floor mats doing that in the old cars, but you got that covered. does the car accelerate immidiatly once you restart the car ?
It did accelerate immediately after starting the car again.
I just found my problem. It was a broken connection on the throttle cable and it got itself wedged intoa big mounting flange near mySamco hose.
Thanks.
