s4 2.7 TT Vs V8 s4
well actually, if you have more money to spend you can get the v8 and get the new kit that came out...it costs one arm + two legs.
but you can easily be up in that power range with stage 2+ which will only run you about 3-4 grand, depending on how wisely you spend.
also the v8 has a little bit sexier interior. but i still think my b5 s4 is gorgeous.

As always, thanks for the input!

Justin,
The 4.2 L is a great motor. But as of now the 2.7T is just easier to mod more power per dollar and there are more mods out there. If you were going to get a new RS4 then I would say that is most likely better than a 2.7 if you look in my sig you will see a race between my car and a fully built B7 S4...There is a lot on the table with the 4.2l I am able to keep a head of a stage 2 B5 S4
I don't know if this helped or makes it more confusing

I think the big difference is the upfront cost. Do you want a little or big car payment?
For me I didn't want a car payment, and I wanted a turbo, so that stuck me with the B5
The B6 looks nice, has a nicer interior, and is a little bigger. Chances are it will still have a warranty.
The B5 is a HP monster, a little more subtle looking, and cost much less HP to $$.
In the end it's your choice, go & drive both & get what ever one you like better.

b6/b7 s4 s/c.
You can go with MTM or ABT...pretty much the same s/c kit.

those supercharger kits are expensive as hell though from the prices I've seen (15,000 or so??). And I can't imagine the damage it would do to the con-rod bearingswhat with it having such a high CR. Brutal.

There was one up here, it's a really nice kit, but the car only did 14sec 1/4 times. Not all that impressive, but he did say the traction was left on, and that he didn't launch it.
That MTM kit should be putting him into late 12's inanything. A stock B6 should domid 13's,along without the launch he was probably short shifting, too.
And yeah, 25,000 I think is right....
