s4 is a porker....
ok, so most data sheets list the B5 S4 at 3650 lbs. However, from a pretty reliable source (salesman/owner) I heard that the 2000 was about 200lbs lighter. He said the 3650 is not really that accurate, but the 2000 is around 3500, and the 2001+ is closer to 3700. Does anyone know this to be true or not? I dont have access to scales, but just found this to be rather interesting, and it perked my curiosity.
I'ev heard the earlier or later B5's is lighter because of aluminum in the front, i think the earlier years? the later years its like 3800+ lbs. But with 250 lbs in it.. it's still a heavy s4, lol... and im working on the weight reduction
At first glance, I thought the thread title was " S4 is Poker" ... now that would be Very appropriate, lol

For what it's worth,MSN Autos lists a 2001 S4 as follows:
Tiptronic - 3704 lbs
6-speed - 3593 lbs
However, they do list the 2000's at the same weight so meh who knows....
Some basic weight savings could be had with a lightweight battery (30-40lbs), lighter exhaust system components(20-50lbs), lightened flywheel (10lbs), rear upperseat back (25lbs), lighter wheels (10-40lbs), spare tire removaland of course carbon fibre stuff and what not else.
