I currently have an A4 but looking at possibly getting a S4. I am curious what type of issues I should be aware of before switching. For example the A4 is known that timing belt / water pump must be replaced. Any known common issues with the S4? The year is going to be a 2000-2001.

Dude, i went from a 04' A4 to an 01 S4 and there is no comparison IMO. I love my S4!!

 

it can be quite pricey but its probably around the same parts prices as a a4 as far as parts go

try to get atleast a 01.5

timing belt needs to be done between 80-1ook and that cancost 1.2k
