S4 steering wheel. How easy to switch from 4-spoke to 3-spoke?
Ok, first post here. Been looking around for a S4, '03-05. I like automatics for my commute, and I like paddle shifters. But some S4's of this vintage have an "upgraded" 4-spoke steering wheel with plenty of stereo controls but NO paddle shifters.
So, how easy and cost effective is it to switch from the 4-spoke to the standard 3-spoke audi steering wheel with paddle shifters?
I've attached a pic of each wheel (and a closeup of the paddles).

Firstly if you are running an auto, why are you dealing flappy paddle nonsense?
I don't really know of an easy way to do this. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that if you were an ACE!!!! electrician, it might be possible to reroute the wiring but practically, I don't know if its doable.

I have a 2003 A6 3.0 Sport with Tipp gearbox and would be interested in fitting the same steering wheel with the paddles as you were thinking about.
Did you fit the wheel and let me know how you got on?
