Time to replace summer tires on my 01 S4. I currently have Pirelli P6000s. I recently read an article in Car & Driver (Dec 2005) that tested 11 high performance tires and rated the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 number 1. Other tires tested included ContiSport Contact2 (2), Yokohama Advan Neova (3), Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 (4), Hankkok Ventus RS2 (5), Dunlop SP SportMaxx (6) Pirelli PZero Rosso Asim (7), & Toyo Proxes T1R (8). The test car was a BMW 325i with 225/45R-17 tires. Any recommendations??

i just got the Pilot PS2 and i dont think u will regret it either
They are pricey but great in the wet + dry and are pretty quite on the hwy
They were my main concerns and i dnt care if they were low or high mileage tire
Personally i've had the Rosso b4 and found them to be very noisey and wouldnt buy agian

 

i dont buy that test at all... i saw it and its bs.. the flaw was they included price in their weighting and heavily. I want to be the one to weight out price vs performance..i want performance numbers.. the conti i dont think finished higher than like 5 in any test... (im prob exaggerating as i saw it awhile ago.. but it wasnt high in any category and it got ranked a 2. id say for the buck, prob the toyo... but ive heard very good things about the sport maxx and i think dunlop is offering a deal as is goodyear and the f1 is a great tire too... id like to try the advan neova but theyre very expensive.
