hi to all the audi owners out there! a quick little tidbit about myself. i always wanted an audi and last year purchased my first! now a proud owner of an 2004 a4 1.8t avant and yes i love it! after a year with the car i still can't bring myself to do any mods to it. so i've been lookin into the s4 models. today i found one and nearly had a heart attack. made a call to the dealer to set up a meeting. dealer showed me the s4 and it was sweet!! i test drove it and just have to say, omg! hehe anyway... after the awesome test drive i hit the dealer up with many questions. questioned about turbo for the model and was sadden to hear that the s4 was not turbo. which brings me to my question does the s4 models come in turbo? or would a turbo kit have to be installed?

Teh 2000-2002 S4's are V6 dual turbo. No you can't just install a turbo on the V8 models. It would have to be a custom job and cost thousands.

 

thank you for the reply! so if i was interested in a turbo s4s i'd have to look into 2000-2002 models? 2003s were v8s as well?

 

you don't need any turbo's on that 4.2 V8 that thing is a monster as it is now if your used to driving 1.8T's u will be very happy for a long time with the 4.2 S4 also the newer S4 is a lot faster than the previous 2000-2002 S4

I heard there is a supercharger coming out, although pricey.

 

yeap that s4 sure is a beast! which is why i'm picking mines up on Monday. i figured if couldn't bring myself to mod the A4, Avant even! i should be good with the s4 the way it is! lol thanks again for the responses!

 

Actually jestnomen the b5 and b6 s4s are about the same in acceleration. Both about mids 5 to 60. The dif is the turbos and i think some trans changes. There is also a power to weight change equalling them out.
