if you are doing 95 then you deserve a ticket, not to get away with it

and when did i ever say something about my posts being of stature?
You never said anything about your posts being of stature, however I anticipated that you might explode and perhaps use that as an argument, so I pre-emptively defended myself. I must respectfullydisagree about your first point, though.

It is dangerous to go95 on acrowded road.If you're presented with an empty highway, I see no reason why you should automaticallybe penalized for going95.You are risking your own wellbeing in doing so, and shouldn't be automatically reprimanded when doing nothing to anyone else. I know that this is a bit of an idealizedviewpoint, since you can't use the fact that the road was empty as a legitimate excuse for going 110 in a 65 when a cop pulls you over. Nevertheless, if you can get away with it, and you're not harming anyone, I don't see why not. Anyway, I'm gonna let thisthread get back on track, since we seem like we're derailing it here.

This is a fairly comical thread... And in my opinion, Mott isnt trolling and does make very valid points which arent far off topic. And while post count doesnt mean anything, calling someone who has been around and has had a positive impact on the forum with good responses and helpful tips a "******* moron" less than 10 posts into your stay on your forum is a good way to make sure you dont stay on the forum very long.

What i know of mott is based on him being around awhile from his many posts...so if he goes off topic sometimes, i still know he could either be joking, or having a bad day or what not, he still has valuable stuff...what i know about you two is based on very few replies half of them are on tangents like this with short fuses filled with insults. So id be quick to turn the attitude around and keep it civil

And on a side note, if youre gonna call someone a "******* moron", do a lil research before you post maybe even on V1's website, youd quickly find they have a hidden display that can be mounted in different areas as well as how to hardwire it so you dont have to deal with the cords, thus so you dont yourself look like the "******* moron"

I hear that they point the radar guns or (aim) them where your windshield meets your hood in the middle. So i hear, but i'm goin to ask my sis who works for Highway Patrol. I have a hardwired V1 but like escort better because you can program it yourself. V1 goes crazy for X band which is one of the oldest type of radar and goes off or(false readings) by store sensors, traffic light cameras, and number of places. Just throwing some info out there pleaseadd anyknowledge towards RADAR DETECTORS.

so in conclusion a # about your post count = weather or not your post is on topic or not.

even you are off in what you are responding too. I know i can make a post anywhere about install and hardwiring thats not the point -- i was asking specifics on how it works in an S4 and the install and how clean it is and everything (hence the PERSONAL INPUT part) -- so why would I post that on the V1 site... but use your "moderator" posistion as you wish, all its doing is steering this thread in a wrong direction when it didn't have to, which is what i and the rest of the people who agree with me were trying to say to this mott fellow.

anyways does anyone else have an on-topic reply?

pretty sure you and battery were doing fine along with mott to steer it off topic without me... i was stating that you guys were pushing it farther with your actions..his was reasonably on topic even though he didnt directly answer your question...just stating it seems you drive rather foolishly, it would be in wise discretion to perhaps view that trait as well as the v1... generally a speed trap or something isnt gonna save you with a radar detector..they have instant on..by that time your v1 goes off..youre nailed... Yes, it will help in areas where hes getting people infront of you..but in open road youre effed regardless...

I used the v1 website because they have screen caps of the hidden display and areas to mount it..being an s4 is really irrelevant to that.. The install is pretty standard amongst most cars (i dont think it differs very much) but someone i believe already posted the guide to hardwiring it.

On top of all that, i dont believe i used my moderator position in any way.. I didnt ban you, i didnt lock the thread...More so gave you an overview of what i see... and post count doesnt equal if youre on topic.. but more implying..if youre new and start insulting people while youre seeking help, usually isnt a good thing. That doesnt make myself or any one else with the proper knowledge WANT to help you...even if you felt he was going off topic, you could have simply asked him to remain on topic while refraining from insults

You might be able to do some kind of a ceiling mount. V1s have a remote install kit too. If Radar Detectors are illegal in CA you might consider getting a Beltronics STi. I have the Beltronics RX65 which uses all the same detection gear and I LOVE it. I chose it over the V1 because it's a little less of a cry baby. Anyway, the advantage of the STi is that it's sealed and doesn't leak signals that could be detected by radar detector detectors.

www.radarbusters.com is a great resource for anything 'police countermeasure' related.

The only two mods I have on my car at the moment are: Veil Laser Countermeasure and the RX65. The RX65 has saved me MANY MANY times. I haven't been hit with a laser though since the Veil install so who knows if it works

You guys are funny and I mean everyone.
Golfman - listen bro you are new to Cali and to the forums every one here is generally cool and laid back, so take Mott and Sooks advise for what it is and let it go. they both have a lot of knowledge and can help you with a lot of problems. Normally a new guy would get flamed for not using the search button first, also for not using the internet to actually look up the penal codes (laws)associated with radar detectors. so here is some help to you, they are 100% state legal. Radar jammers are illegal in California. You can mount it to your windshield with the suction cups it is not illegal unless it is in your line of sight. Valentine recomends you mount it high in your windshield underneath the rearview mirror is a great place and no cop will say anything. In fact if most cops catch you without using there radar and they see you have a radar detector they will automatically write you a ticket for 20 mph higher then they thought you were going just to be dicks. So thats something else to think about. I have the V-1 hardwired cause i love speeding and it has saved me many times. but you always need to know your surroundings and where cops hide. good luck on the forums. hope you don't think I am an idiot.

Radar Jammers are illegal on the federal level, which means that they are illegal in every state in the U.S not just in California. Just wanted to clear that up so there's no misconception. Laser Jammers are only illegal in a *few* states.
