S4 vs. other Audi models
Hello all,
I'm a first time poster, so be gentle. Haha.
Okay, I'm ready to step up and get a more performance-minded car, and I have decided to go with Audi for a list of reasons.
My question is, how does the S4 match up against other Audi models as far as stock configuration/quality and mod-ibility down the road?
I know the car just came out, but how does the S4 match up against the A5 and S5 as far as bang-for-your-buck goes?
Just for a little info on helping me, let's say that my budget is 60k. What would you do?
Thanks in advance!

Looks wise I would go with the S5. But the RS4 is gorgeous too. And I believe that they both have the same engine, but tuned differently. I would go with the S5, but thats just me. I'm sure other people on this forum have a lot more insightful information than me.
Well a new s4 certainly is performance minded. But the v8 engine isnt really that moddable. You can do intake, exhaust, and a chip, but because theres no forced inducton system to play with its harder to get more power.
An s5 would fit into your budget. It has the 4.2 FSI engine with a little more power than the s4, but it also has a wider wheel base, fatter rubber, beautiful styling. Personally if you arent looking for 4 doors specifically, id pick the s5 over the s4. But again neither cars are extensivey moddable. Im SURE the basic chips and exuast will be out for the s5 before too long. Stock both of these cars are amazing, great interior, great performance. Id go with the S5

Thats true i shouldnt discount the supercharger kits for the 4.2 However if thats the path you choose your looking at spending a good ammount over $10,000. I guess the same is true for stage 3 on a b5 though.... You would probably also have one of the first blown s4's in the USA

If you opted to supercharge your s4 by the time you got through with labor, parts, exhaust etc your definitly over that $60k.
Personally...Id go with a nice S5 in manual, and get some sweet options like carbon fiber trim etc etc etc
how about a used S4 with low miles.... (aprx. $30k) ... and a supercharger(aprx. $10-20k/ with extras)........ = $50 grand and 500hp! [sm=drooldude.gif]
-just a though...., well actually my dream..... hehe
