Default S4 won't fill...

I just recently got a 2001 Audi S4. When I went to go fill it up it kept clicking (as if it were full). I thought it was the pump at first, but when I went to fuel up a second time same thing happened. Anyone got any ideas to what might be wrong??

Try pulling the pump out a couple inches then filling, that'll usually do the trick.

How far does it fill up to? Because my usally stop about 1/2 less then tanks actually capacity only because the air pressure within the tank causes the gas pump to stop. If you let the pump out after it clicks off you should hear a little hiss form the pressure escaping from the tank. Then try to fill it up a little more. I repeat the process about 5 times so I get the tank as full as possible. Just don't go crazy or you will overfil

My A4 had this same issue. I believe it was the vent valve in the tank not opening. Mine would click every dollar I put in. I turned the nozzle upside down and that would work sometimes

I have the same problem with mine, but more like every 30 cents, its really annoying. Im pretty sure its the vapor vent valve not letting pressure out, causing it to think its full. Looks like we all have to pull our fuel tanks.

Funny, mine never had the problem before but it just started. I think it's the new pumps, at least in CA.
