Default S8 Questions

Hi everyone. I'm brand new to the forum. I just picked up my new S8 and have a couple of questions that I'm hoping you guys can help me out with.

First of all, I asked my dealer to hardwire my Valentine 1 radar detector into the car. They did it, but told me that they can't connect to a switched circuit. Therfore, I have to manually turn the V1 on and off or risk running down the battery. I have V1's installed in all of my cars, and never had this problem until today. Has anyone else had this problem with the S8 and there a fix?

Next question. I'm amazed at the amount of road noise I hear in the car. On concrete highways, its a loud, high pitched vibtration type noise. The car has Yokohama tires on it. It's definitely related to the type of road serface, so i think it could be the tires. Anyone else had this problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Barry

Default RE: S8 Questions

I don't know much about the new S8's besides their engines but the noise is most likely from your tires if the sound is unnatural. As for the V1 theres gotta be a way to link it with the circuit, don't see why they couldn't. I would take it by your local audio/alarm shop and they could most likely tell you how or do it for you.

If I were you I'd go pick up some nice Pirelli's

I'm sure someone with more S8 knowledge could be more specific.
