Default seatbelt chime..

i hate that damn chiming when the car is running and you do not have the seatbelt on. i always wear my belt, but when i am waiting for someone or am just sitting idle... it chimes all day long... also when my passenger is in the car alone.

is there any way to program it off?

I freakin hate the chim also. I wish I could tell you how to stop it for sure. One thing I'm going to try is this. In other cars I've owned, there's usually a plug attached to the female side of the seatbelt under the driver seat somewhere. This plug is wired to the chim. When the male portion of the seat belt is plugged in, a circuit is completed and..... no more chim. To defeat this, it should be as simple as disconnecting the plug from the belt. Can't say for certain this will work because I have yet to get in there to see if this is how it's connected in the Audi. Just thought I'd suggest it. If you try it and find that this works, let me know.

Yes, you can have it Vagged to stop dinging.

Most dealers won't do it, but someone with a VAG tool can, if you know the code.

I don't know it, but I'm sure someone over at AW.com has it.

sorry Aho.....

A VAG tool is the computer you plug into the OBDII slot.

AW is short for AudiWorld.com
