Default short shifters

does anyone have a short shifter for the b5 s4? (in particular the 2000) i was once told that the way the transmissions are for audis, that short shifters will only damage the tranny itself. is this true? is it worth the money, or am i better off spending it on something else? i'm looking for something to buy myself for christmas

a lot of people have s.s. in their b5's S4's and a4's. Some people love them, some hate them. I've heard mixed things on tranny damage, Some will say nope not a problem and some are opposite spectrum

I have the B&M and had the UUC before that, I don't see how a shifter would damage the trans. Its more if the driver tries to shift too fast and lets the clutch out early.

agreed - ultimate action/movement is the same. I rarely miss a gear with the B & M - before the throws were so long and the gates so vaugue I often didn't know where I was. Engagement is much more precise now - if a bit notchy at times - but mostly just short & sure - really nice feel.

I wouldn't mind a short shifter...

I am pretty excited though, tomorrow afternoon my car is going to AWE to get some giac equipment and a boooooost gauge, I am moist with anticipation.

what kind of hp will I get from my boost gauge?

j/k about the question...

Look into Toyguy Shifter, its the least notchy of them all, acc. to the most.
Vast shifter is similar, and lil less expensive.
Just my 2 cents.
