short throw
I felt one of the cheap ebay ones in a friends car, he had it in for a week and then threw it away. It was so notchy and difficult to shift. If your one a budget, vast all the way. http://www.vastperformance.com/produ...ansmission.php

DUDE, you have an S4, the cheap eBay crap is NOT GOING TO WORK! IT's all LOW quality with poor fit & finish. The only thing that seams to work is the FMIC, but even that needs some love.

i have read on a few other forums that the ebay short throws work great and people love them. i figure i will try it out and try and save myself $150 since this one is only $40...worse case scenario is if this one is garbage i lost $40 and will have to spend the $200 on the b&m
"The Best" one seams to be the Top Guy kit. I have played with it in my friends car. Not sure on the cost, but it felt almost like stock, just shorter.
I just hate notchy shifting, I would rater have a longer throw then a notchy throw.

I have the B & M and would highly recommend it. Is it notchy? Perhaps a little - but not really any more noticible then stock and I don't really notice it as such at all. Its benefits over stock - long throw - are immense IMO. And I wouldn't go cheap on this sort of thing. I would check out JBQuick's shifter (from this forum) if I were in the market for one today - but I'm totally happy with my B & M.
