My '00 S4 has various issues to resolve. I'm not very tech savvy though. I never even heard of a OBD til recently. But I borrowed one from Autozone recently and got about 15 fault codes. I figured I should probably geta OBDtool for myself. But I see recommendations for the vag-com tool here. The one I would get from Ross Techcosts $250. But I'm wondering if it will do me any good since I don't know anything. What can I do with a vag com that I can't do with a OBD?

 

is this your first Audi?? do you intend to stay with the brand?? ( the more fault codes means the less of a problem ) and down to a single item but without the codes ill walk on the moon lol

Yes. If you have the car you should spend the $250 on a VAG-COM, its very useful to have at your disposal and if you want to start learning about your car what better tome to start than now.
