Default Speaker Issues

Hey everyone. Thanks for the help on my previous questions! Its a process, but im getting to know my car better and better. Thanks for the patience with my newbie questions!

So the issue Im having is my driver door speaker is putting out alot of static. It isn't all the time, but becoming more frequent. Doesnt sound like a blown speaker, more like a bad connection. I took it to car toys and they said there wasn't anything they could do besides gutting the entire system or adding components. But until I do blow the speakers, I dont want to spend the money on an entire system. I just want the current Bose system to sound the way it was supposed to.

I just switched the "hidden equalizer" settings to 76567656 and really like the way it sounds when the stattic is not there.

So what is going on? Why is my speaker staticky? And can I really not put aftermarket speakers in without putting an entire new system? All comments and suggestions are welcome. Thanks everyone!

Looks like you've got a little too much bass there.

And you could replace your speakers as long as the stock bose ones are 4ohm for woofer and tweeter.

There are also kits and harnesses available for bose integration.

I dont think the bass is the problem, i turned it completely down on both the front adjuster and hidden setting and still got the stattic...

And Bottlecap;
Its a "hidden" group of settings to adjust your Bose system. You can also adjust the volume to adjust with the car speed and other things too. There is a big write up and instructions on one of the forums, cant remember which one though. But to access the equalizer, do the following.
You turn your stereo off, press and hold number 5, and then while still pressing 5, turn the stereo back on and release 5. You will be presented with 8 numbers that you can adjust to fine tune your system.

I have the same problem. Drivers side door speakers sound very bad sometimes. I just turn it up real loud for a few seconds then turn it down again and it seems to usually fix it. I would just replace the stock speakers but I'm not convinced that's what is causing the problem. My first thought was a bad connection as well. Hopefully someone knows what may be up.

Its weird you said that after you turn it up loud it seems to be fine after... I thought I noticed that too. But I am completely fed up with the issue. Audi said it could be door grease that dripped onto something(yeah right), so I finally just ordered the infinity 4022i speakers that many others did and am gonna install them this weekend. Ill post the results and let people know if it solved the problem.

that's weird that turning it up fixes it. to me it seems like it may just be the bose deck itself..oh and thats for the link above..my car sounds like it has subs now which is something i missed from my last car

Others have reported their speakers getting wet, especially after tinting windows. That one usually clears itself up though. Not sure about those speakers but most non-Bose speakers will not work on a Bose system. I tried a number of variations and ended up replacing the whole system.
