Default Speakers

Hey everyone. Thanks for all the input on my issue about my car jerking. I have concluded that its the motor mounts or a boost leak coming from the TBB. Either way its getting taken care of!

My question now is what to do about my speakers. My driver door speaker is not coming in clearly, sometimes ok, sometimes staticky, some random code is showing up through vag-com but forget exactly what it was, something about a short. Also sounds like one of my rear spaekers are blown cause on songs with deep base,(rock! BELIEVE THAT), the speaker vibrates more than it should.

I have the audi symphony bose system right now.

Dont know if I should just have audi replace the stock speakers or go aftermarket. And if the latter, what and where? I also want a sub... I searched the web, but to no success.

Please offer any and all suggestions.

Thanks Everyone!

The stock speakers are pretty crappy, 10 years old, and made of paper. If you replace them with OEM speakers youll regret it because theyre expensive and will break again. The dust caps tend to detach on the rear deck speakers and will rattle around, it will start sounding like a blown speaker but it gets progressivly worse and it eventually unbearable. You can open them up and rip the dust cap out, which does make a huge difference. Front speakers also have a tendency to make bad noise.

Mixing aftermarket and Bose components dosnt work very well, most people would reccomend saving untill you can replace the whole system at once headunit, amp, speakers and all.

Right now im on my second set of bose (given to me for free by a friend with an S4) and have the dust caps removed from the rear. Its been working allright for a few months but it definitly dosnt have the kick id like. Not nessicarily terrible though.....

replace everything! you can't just replace the speakers and not the headunit, and you can't replace the headunit without replacing the speakers... thats bose for you... save up your money and do a whole system in the car at once. I had a local place do a full system, headunit, speakers, sub, amp and an alarm system for $3,000. I had saved up the money and said this is how much i have i want this headunit, give me good speakers and a sub in the back. They said ok and went to work. The system is trick, hidden amp, and a bunch of smaller details. One of my favorite things is they took the red or blue led that normally comes with the security system and replaced it with yellow leds and custom mounted them into the a-pillars down down at the bottom of them. Very trick stuff.

for more pics of the system look at my pics on here.

thats a pretty good pic of the amp, the door can still go on, but when you open the door there is a yellow LED that shines down to light up the amp
