Default Squeak with Stoptech Stage II upgrade

After dealing with the squeak for a couple months, I finally gave up and ordered the "delux pads" that are organic from stoptech...and no more squeak. So if you have the squeak and are sick of it, get new pads that aren't the ceramic and kevlar (ultimate pads).

well in all fairness... mine didnt squeak at first either..the squeak came with time.. I believe the pads do get harder as they get farther worn..or at least are different compounds..

but do you mind me asking where you got the pads from and how much... and how is the stopping power.

Mine did not squeak at first. It took about 2 weeks. The reason being is that the ceramic/kevlar pads create a layer of brake dust between the pad and rotor, and if you dont brake agressively enough to keep the layer a certain thickness the squeak starts happening. If you went and did the process of break-in again, it would stop for a little bit, but if you didn't keep it up the squeak will come back. The stopping power is noticable, the pedal is not as touchy as it used to be, but I actually like it better. I bought the Axxis Delux Pads from Stoptech for 120 bucks, I only got the fronts. My squeak only came from the fronts, maybe cause there is so much more rotor surface, I really don't know. But I just got the front pads, replaced them, and no squeak over 6 weeks later.

Race style pads will squeak, that's the price you pay for great brakes.

You can try to put some anti-squeal on the pads, it does work really well.

You don't know about it?

IMHO, the paste stuff is better, basically, you just put the stuff on the corners & backs of the pads, it keeps them from vibrating, that's the squeal.

The other thing that works is sanding down the leading edge of the pad, to give it a little slope, this will help remove or lessen the squeal.

I prefer the hawk pads cause that is what we have with our brembo's for racing purposes and they dont sqeak at all...

But you have Brembo brakes? I don't know if they use the same technology as stoptech, but hawk pads might be worth a try, I just know that I got the Axxis delux pads and they don't squeak ever now.
