Thermostat Stuck on 2010 S4, Overheated
My wife, oh my wife. Only a woman would ignore the warning bells that say "Turn Off Car Immediately" and continue to drive the car home so her husband can fix it. Arggggh !
The thermostat stuck open, the gauge was as high as it could read. My sales rep says this is kinda common with these S4s. Anyone else have this problem. If not, be wary of letting your wife drive your car.

Will the warranty cover any damage? Overheating it can warp the heads and cause the head gaskets to leak. I'd demand a new thermostat be installed (even if you have to go purchase an aftermarket "fail-safe" type that if it fails, sticks open) those run about $15.
I know the dash had to be beeping and flashing a big red coolant temp symbol. I've seen my car do it when the t-stat stuck this past winter or when the coolant reservoir gets low.
