Default Things to look for...

Picking up my S4 this comming Saturday. Its a 2000 model with 91K on it. Stock with the triptronic transmission. I know its in that stage of life that the timing belt job needs to be done. Is there anyway to tell if it has already been replaced? Anything else that might need immediate attention? This is my first Audi, so any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I bought my 2000 with 84k miles on it. Since then I've had to do to the Timing belt, TBB, Headlight Ballast, brakes/rotors/1 caliper. I also have a new clutch coming and a set of rear wheel bearings sitting on my desk. I have 106k miles now.

I'm pretty sure I'd do it all again though.

check the records to see if its done, ask the dealer. the TB is something you have to make sure is replaced. I got mine with 91K and the TB and WP was replaced around 70K. check TBB for damage which can cause boost leaks.
the best info i can give is to search around, it will answer almost all of your questions. i helps me out a lot!

If you don't have a receipt for it, then it has NOT BEEN DONE!

Go & try to chance it, then in a month, you will post about "how to get a new engine"
