haha yeah sooks. i kinda messed up on that one. but i love the b5 model. it's my favorite, design wise. and it has the most mods available at this moment, if that's what you're into.

Thanks for coming to my defense - I thought maybe I was missing something. Kinda unrelated: have you guys experienced a lot of electrical issues? I read that Audi is notorious for them but I didn't have many issues with my A6. In the B7 S4 I seem to be having a lot in the short time that I've had it, mostly with the stereo. The latest is that the CD changer won't play CDs past the 2nd or 3rd song.

audi is notorious for a lot of different issues for each model, make, and year. but regardless, it's still always worth it in the long run. i love these cars, and i'll never go back to anything else.

the 2004-2006 (B6-B7) S4 is a great car. While it will not be able to hang with a Z06 or an AMG stock it still is a fast car. There are a couple supercharger kits in the works that should be out shortly....both APR and AWE are working on them. The auto may hold you back in terms of how much power it can hold with aftermarket mods without some upgrade to the tranny. Having owned both a B5 and B6 let me say I prefer the B6 chassis, interior and appearance....but I love the B5's 2.7T engine. Maybe someday when I have the money and ***** I'll build a B6 or B7 with a proper 2.7T under the hood. But I do love that V8 sound.

Is the 2.7T really faster than the V8? How does that happen when the V8 has 100hp on it? I'm not all that educated on what = fast, but that doesn't make sense to me. My A6 has the 2.7T and I have to admit that it's hard to tell the difference between that and the V8, but at higher speeds the V8 is still pulling when the V6 has already topped out.

Sooks is right, stock for stock the B6/B7 is faster.... and a better car in my own opinion. However with some light mods a B5 quickly surpasses the B6/B7. In fact a well set-up Stage 3 B5 would probably take a new RS4.

Thats not to say I still wouldn't choose the B7 RS4....factory fast is nice!

the rs4 just looks mean though. not to say that the b5 s4 doesn't, i love my nogaro b5. but it sure as hell surprises those stupid evos and all them other ricers who think a huge aluminum wing will add 1000 hp to their car. if they were smart they would know that it only adds 200.... duh!!!!

i love mine! plenty of pep, although it does drink the petrol. i say "go for it"
i don't think there's much major difference between the 04 and 05.
quite a car for a 19 year old.
maybe by the time your 23 you'll be in the RS4!

I just picked up my 05' S4 and love every bit of it. I had a brand new 05' G35 and it got totaled a week ago so I went with an Audi. The fit and finish of the Audi is far better than the Infiniti. Plus, the dynamics of all wheel drive will feel much different compared to your Mustang, I cannot believe how hard I can push the car and keep the back end down. I dont quite know why you would want a 745 at this point in your life so I would say to stick with the S4, and like someone else said above, if the S4 isnt quick enough, simply go get a WRX STi. If you want the full package of luxury, performance, and quality, the S4 is exactly that.
