I've never driven the 335xi but I have test driven bimmers before. I didn't like the interior, the seat, the steering or the ride. I love the exterior looks and I've heard it's quite fast, and I'm sure more modable than the B7. But, for the reasons mentioned above, I'd go S4 any day because what I'm touching and looking at for 99% of the time is more important to me than a few hp.

 

in my opinion the 335 is badass but the B5 S4 still takes the cake. People are reporting motor problems on the bimmers already even with stock motors and stage 1 motors... if the car cant handle a chip, i dont ever see it handling a stage 3 package, therefore the S4 having a motor 10 years older still takes the cake... its motor can handle like 600whp on stock internals, what other 4 door can do that? Oh and I second that Audis have better interior and Quattro pwns X-drive

What about waiting a little bit and getting a B8 S4? Faster than the B6/B7 and more "athletic"

 

anything over 450whp and you're better off with upgraded rods. 500whp+ and it's almost a must.

600whp on a stock motor is, well, unpossible beyond a single glory run

 

ive had bimmers and my latest is the b5 s4.. i love the bmw but the handling and driving characteristics of my audi will have my buying again and again.. theres just nothing like hammering the throttle in a tight curve and point in one direction and having all fours claw in that direction.. just love the user friendly, blast to drive every day audi.. thats just me.. ive even worked at dealerships and driven in the new 335 with the turboed straight six.. its smooth as silk but still the handling of my s4 is second to none.. its just so much fun..
