Three questions... Auto Recirc... and Interior Alarm Sensor and Adjustable Focus Xenons
I just recieved my Nogaro S4 Avant with every option available in Canada.
A couple of questions that I have are:
The Variable Focus headlights... are they on Canadian models and how do they work?
The Auto Recirculation button is in the manual but not on the dash... please help elaborate.
The interior alarm lists an ultrasonic sensor.... is it in the Canadian model? and if so how do you use the defeat button?
Thank you for any insight,
Miah

The defeat button should be about waist high next to the driver's seat bolsters but located on the B-pillar; it'a push button.
If I understand your question the recirculation button is on the lower left within the A/C controls. It has a symbol that has an arrow bent into a crescent shape. It closes the outside air intake vents for the cabin and the A/C recirculates the air within the cabin.
I don't know about "Variable Focus" headlights; it must be a Canadian feature. Unless you mean that they adjust with the height of the car as you drive over dips in the road. If that's what you mean, then it is a feature that automatically adjusts via a ballast sytem built into the headlight housings.

Thanks for the response... to clarify:
With regards to the ultrasonic sensor... is it the blank button next to the one for disabling the vehicle anti towaway alarm?
As for the recirc... I have that one and I know how to use that... it's just that the product spec sheet details an automatic anti smog recirculation feature as standard on all north american S4s which has the same cresent shaped symbol but with an "A" on it. See the manual and you will see what I am referring to.
The Variable Focus headlight are discribed in the spec sheet as well. All I can find in the manual is Dynamic Distance Control malfunction light reffered to but no description of how the system works. Surely distance control and auto leveling are different..unless some thing got lost in the German to English translation.
Thank you,
Miah

I don't have an anti towaway alarm button; just one button for the ultrasonic sensor. I guess we can assume that you've found the button.
I don't have the recirc feature listed in my manual, nor do I find the symbol anywhere.
The Variable Focus is completely beyond me! Sorry.
What "spec sheet" are you referring to in your description? I have a manual and some other written materials, but I want to be clear about the right item.
The spec sheet is here:http://www.audiworld.com/model/s4/04/s4avant.pdf
I will scan the manual later as well.

More trouble again... I can't seem to get in on that page. Adobe stops and says there's an error and then shuts down. Sorry. I'll keep trying.
Still get a "must shut down" window. Must be on my computer - argh!
If you can help with some images in the meantime, maybe I can ask around, too.
