Timing Belt @ 60K??
I have a 2002 S4 and the dealership says the timing belt should be changed as part of the standard 60K maintenance. Since they have to open up the engine to get at it, they recommend doing the water pump, thermostat, serpentine belt etc. at the same time for about $1500! Does the timing belt really need changing at 60K and am I taking a big chance if I don't do it? Thanks....
the timing belt should be changed around 60k miles. but the cheapest way to do it is to get a kit and do it yourself. you can get a timing belt kit at www.ecstuning.com. they have a lot of good **** that you would need.
Search the forums. There is such a variance in when people do timing belts. I posted a "What miles did you do your timing belt" on audiworld.com, and got tons of different answers. Go search there.
