Default Tires

I have been on numerous other forums and know the protcol is to do a search and I have here but couldn't find a definitive answer.
I have a "new" 04 S4 6 speed sedan. I plan to upgrade the wheels but will stay with the 18 x 8. The stock offset is 45 I believe. Most of the wheels I am looking at have a 35 offset. My question is will I get rubbing if I go to a 245/40? Also I will be using PS 2's which tend to be a little blocky and sometimes can cause fitment problems as opposed to other tires, but I really love the PS 2.
The suspension is stock. The total diameter would only be increasing by .3 " which would have very little negative effect on the effective final gearing but would actually as a side benifit correct my speedometers's slightly exagerated readings. So bottom line here is will they rub.?
Thanks in advance.

Go to 1010tires.com and use there offset calculator and it will let you know, they also have other tools. But your wheel will be further out my 10mm which means you will have more inner clearance 10mm to be exact. as long as your tread width is the same. Hope this helps.

i think you did it backwards...hed have 10mm less inner clearance....as the wheels hub will move 10 mm inwards...

IMO on a b6, you should go bigger...at least wider than 8 inches... imo 19's look best on the car, but is also wheel dependent.

But to answer your question, you should be fine on a +35mm offset

Thanks for your replys guys. Reiem, I will check out that website. Sooks you are rigtht, the hub moves in 10mm on the 35 but that pushes the wheel ouyward by 10mm. I agree the 19's look bitchen on the B6 but I have deccided to stay with the 18 for the performance characteristics I am looking for. I am now looking at a BBS CH which is not a feather weight but is about 4 lbs lighter than stock. That wheel , however, is 8 1/2 which makes rthe 245 tire a bit more questionable.
