Need your opinion...
I currently have an '01 A6 2.7T - tip,spt pkg and have been really considering to trade for an S4 manual.... I would loose about 1.5-2 g's. Is it worth it?

I voted trade...but of course you are talking about two very very different cars, that are made for two very different purposes.

If you need to have 3-5 people in the car allot then the a4 is going to seem tiny. If you don't care about that then go for the s4.

Of course I am a bit biased...

 

i love the A6 2.7's I would say don't trade if it was stick but since it is auto I would have to say trade for the S4

 

Yeah, same here, I almost bought an '01 A6 with the sport package 2.7, but it was 6speed manual, it was only 2 grand more to get the "02 S4.

OUCH! on the 1 1/2 to 2 grand loss!!!!

I will not vote. They are on the same team! Well, except for the tiptronic thing, but, thats your call.

Then again, you see what decision I made.

Real question, do you love your A6 and are you happy and satisfied every time you get in it, or do you always get in it wishing you had a manual or an S4?

 

Keep the A6.

 

i looked into both cars, im tall, so fitting into an s4 everyday wasnt worth it, i made my decision, i stuck by it. but yea if the a6 was stick i wouldnt get rid of it, if ur kinda small, dont mind getting into that kinda car, get the s4, ull love the stick on that engine

I'm pretty tall 6'2" so the A6 is a good fit for me. I really do wish I had a manual, more mod possibilities and, more fun!!! (last car was '02 Maxima SE 6spd) The S4 is a bit small everyone in my family has a B6 A41.8T and I owned a B5 2.8QA and the car was kinda small, for me to sit comfortably no one could sit behind me. Plus I got a sweet deal on my A6 CPO for $23k with 29kmi with 0% APR for 60 mo.

Oh a side question (kinda related) did anyone hear of A6 xenons getting stolen because I know that B5/B6 xenon's get swiped in the NYC tristate area. Maxima's are notorious for that, had 'em stolen twice ...

 

if u had a b5 a4, the s4 u know is the same body, so it would be cramped, im 6'1" so we in the same boat. you get more looks in an a6 imo, theres too many a4s for a normal person to know its an s4. trade this a6 in for a stick if u ever come across one if its that big of an issue for u. u can still mod the tips, just cant get crazy with em like imolas car.

dont kno bout jacking hids tho, im in canada and that kinda **** doesnt happen often..must be a bum to steal someones damn lights, least steal something u can get money for, like the wheels or somethin lol

 

A6 to S4, i would do that anyday. such an upgrade

 

lol i wouldnt say such an upgrade, they are basically the exact same car, the a6 is just bigger in every way, unless by such an upgrade u mean lighter, then yea it would be. i would hate to trying to fit into a b5 everyday tho
