Default Turbo Kits

which would be the best turbo kit for a 02 S4, that wouldn't blow the engine. i have heard of the KO4s and AWE's turbos, what other kits are there

Awe prolly has the best/reliable kit out there, pricey, but a good kit.

I'm waiting to see what's going to be available with the new Garretts "k04 killers".

I want high 11s all day with ease and reliability.

Then you want the ko4s, We had a huge debate over this on the zine. And it was proven that the ko4s will have better times do the the fast spool. We have a guy there with stock vag ko4s running 11.5s all night long, on pump gas. The atp protype car with the 28rs and 20+psi coudlt beat it with a pro driver, and the ko4 car was just a regular driver. Besides, the ko4s are more reilable, more drivible, and faster in the 1/4. Sorry to shut ya down about the elimantors, they arent elimiating the ko4s in the s4 world.

rs, would you mind explaining? (or anyone else for that matter) Why do you say they would be better for everyday use?

I know this has been covered before but this might be a new angle on the discussion.

What can you really get in 0-60 & 1/4 on the APR and the AWE and hypothetically on the Garretts? (assuming all other componants are the same or equal) (does "Imola" have official times yet?)

But, most importantly, driving characteristics, I notice that the APR concetrates on higher torque and earlier, whereas the AWE is later and more horse.

Personally, coming from driving a '99 Trans Am (torque based), I like the drivability of early torque.

Do torque biased systems tend to be easier or harder on an engine's componants compared to horse power biased systems? (on the S4)

Which are the Garretts, horse or torque? (obviously all are a blend of both)

Rs, you have this all backwards, the ko4s are 10 times better baily drivers. Why? There more driviable, they have more boost downlow, with the 28rs, you will have to start at a high rpms to make boost and get torque. The ko4s are more reliable, there porche borgwarner turbos that last alot longer then ko3s. And plus, the ko4s are faster, a pro driver in the 28rs car couldnt beat a amatuer with ko4s, this has all been debated before, if you using you car for autox, road course, 1/4, and daily driver, the ko4s win hands down. If your s4 is nothing more than a highway bruiser, then look into the 28rs. But whoever said the 28rs would be more driviable needs to research about them, there ideal engine size is 1.6 to 2.2 liters, where are the s4 is spilting 2.7 liters makeing 1.35 for each turbo, so you can imagine the lag with them. Heck, theres even lag with the 28rs on the a4s with 1.8 liters, and ko4-015 still beat the a4 28rs in autox and off the line, its the same principal.
