Default VAG-COM Code

A buddy of mine is getting this in his '02 tip S4. Cleared it and it keeps coming back.

17125 - Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off.
P0741 - 35-00 - -

Torque Converter taking a dump?

Thanks,

Meat

That is not the usual TC code, but it's a bad code.

You might want to do a trans fluid flush, & drive it easy.

P0741 = Torque converter clutch ( TCC ) solenoid stuck on probable causes are wiring ( check all connections ), TCC solenoid

Thx for the replies. I've read other posts and such that range from "not a big deal..." to "the Torque Converter is taking a **** and will soon need to be replaced". I'll recommend to him to flush and change the filter, but if the code persists should he wait until it's toast or replace the TC right away?
