Default Vag-Com vs. Actron

I've had my S4 for a week and an i am already experiencing the joys of ownership in the form of 4 different codes. I plan on doing most of my own repairs so I'm planning on buying a scan tool. All i see on the boards is Vag-com. I'm looking at the Actron also though because for one it is cheaper and also i can use it on my wifes toyota as well. So can you tell me is it really worth the extra money to get the Vag-com or can i do most of the things i need to with something like the Actron?

The VAG COM is a reversed engineered version of the VAS 5051/5052 scan tool that the dealer uses that costs well over $5,000. It also has most of the functions the VAS tool has, i would say yeah, the vag com is probably the best scan tool that you can get for under $300 in the world just about.

If you DO NOT use a Vag-com, you will limit your DIY, & the first time, you pay some one for something stupid, you could have purchased the Vag-com.
It's the BEST $250 tool for a AUDI!
