Default Weird Smell

So I've got this smell that comes from the engine area. Smells of exhaust or something, it's a pretty thick smell. When driving and I turn on the heater or air conditioner, it doesn't smell, but when I come to a stop it does. Though sometimes it won't. It comes right through the vents and it's enough to make you cover your nose. Also, after I've parked it in the garage, the smell consumes the place. Is it possible my cats have gone? Anything with the O2 sensor that can 'cause this? Like I said, the smell is strong and enough to make you cough. Thanks in advance.

It is most likely your valve covers are leaking. Also try replacing the cabin air filter. Let us know what you find.

if you are throwing a CEL it could be a bad cat.

Ok.

Where on our cars does it say the size of the filter so I can run to Pep Boys and get a new one?
