What a good day!
well guys i started maintenence after i found out that my alternator died, i decided to pull the front off to change the alternator. I got a new bosch one, not some cheap autozone, pepboys brand. well by now i have 83,000 miles on my audi so i decided to change the timing belt. I bought the ecs tuning kit for $344.0 it came with everything. The only thing i didnt use from the kit were the Cam seals ( I was too scared to even touch the cams). I am currently a freshmen in college, 18 years old and worked on my car for 4 days whenever i was out of school or not at work, and today was judgement day. I was so scared when i hooked everything up i didn't wanna start it after hearing some of the bad timing belt stories but i finally got the guts to do it and everything sounded smooth. No metal noise no nothing perfect audi tone. Yes timing belt installation DONE!

(and no i did not work on my car in these clothes, i was just showing my friend the car that day)

(once you get a box like this you know the parts are good)

(old tensioners vs. new )

(Bosch Alternator installed)

(only way to get a corroded temperature sensor out)

put my wheels back on after this and drove out of the garage...
what a good day

yeah i fixed the leak, it was slowly ozzing out of the side of the block. Underneath the tensioner, i tighted up the screws they were a little loose. I bought the tool from zdmak ( they didn't respond with there phone number), but i order it on ebay with their zdmak account. The cam lock bar came with the crankshaft lock tool. I am going to put it on ebay soon, since i do not need to change the belt for another 100,000K hahaha
19 going on 20 for me! I don't know about you guys, but I've only seen one B5 or B6 S4 around my parts of the state. And I drive 70 miles per day. But good job on the timing belt. Sometime this Winter break my dad and I have to change our Timing Belts. I'm kind of excited since I love working on cars.
