580 hp/480 lb-ft, 3650 lbs, and AWD. It would be a pain to park though.

Seriously though, believe it or not, the car I was seriously considering before finding the S4 was the Acura TL Type-S. Not the equal of the Audi on an open track, but the horsepower is not bad, nor is the handling (if you can get over the fact that it is FWD), and the interior is especially comfortable. I would say it is comparable to the Audi (more usable cupholders in any case).

The Acura RL is also nice, and has AWD, but is tuned more for comfort than performance, and it just did not feel like it had the same zip under the hood.

The M3 was also on the short list.
