I am not sure if any of you can help but I am having vibration issues on a set of 3 piece 20X8 Klass wheels for my 2006 S4 Anniversary running on toyo Proxes T1R 235 30 ZR 20. The wheels weigh only 24lbs so they are very lightweight. I just bought them and had them all mounted and balanced from the company I got them from (D2 Autosport which I highl recommend anyone buying luxury 2 and 3 piece wheels to go to them if you are located on the EAST coast. specicially the northeast). Anyways so you can feel the vibration once you go above 60mph until about 85mph and past that nothing. The vibration is not in the steering wheel but in the floor boards. I am going to get them re-balanced on Wednesday, but if anyone has had this problem please offer me some advice as to what you think it may be and how to resolve it. It is bugging the hell out of me

The files are too big for pics so anyone interested just ask and I will send you an email with a pic.

How long have you had them on? Any uneven wear on the tires themselves? If the wheel isnt shaking, possibly balance of the rear wheels. I'd like to see what they look like though.

I just got them on Friday June 8th. I havent even put a hundred miles on them and I am staying away from the highway at all costs because I am sure that it is unsafe to drive when this is occurring. I am possibly thinking that it has something to do with it being a hubcentricwheel, but the wheel was made specifically for the car...This is not the first time that this has happened with aftermarket wheels on this car. I bought a set of cast one piece wheels last year and had the same issue, so I figured spending the extra $$$and thus it should eliminate the problem.

thanks for the input.

Give me your email and I will blast you a couple pics.

hello....i had the same prob...with my 540 bmw..it felt like a hummings noise comming from the floor board..toyos are loud tires and they transmite..a lot of noise threw the cabin...after about 800-1000 miles when i broke in the tire it got a lot better...after that set of tires i went with the pilot sport 2...and i can honestly say that the michlens are the best tire out there..big diff ....you get what you pay for....ill never buy another tire brand ever again.....ive also had the yokahama advan sport...and those never gave me any noise either..but not as good as the ps2.....hope this helps you..as ive gone threw a few sets as you can see....p.s.....what tire pressure are you running...try under inflating and see if this helps..then go back to normAL pressure after your done with the break in...just dont drive agressive when under inflated your car will not handle the same....

Goose thanks for the input howeverI am convinced that it has nothing to dowith the tire...I had the same problem with a previous set which was a different brand of wheels and different tires (tires were pirelli p zero). I went with the toyo because where i live the roads are awful to say the least. Toyo is a stronger tire in that aspect and handles a lot better whereI live. I havedriven on the michelin's as well and they make a great tire probably one of the best, but for where i livethey are just too softfor the roads. If i were to live in CA or AZ for example the softer the rubber the better like pilot sport or pirellis. But that is not the case unfortunately. I am almost convienced that it is the car at this point because no way can two different brands of wheels and tirescanhave the same results.

what tire pressure are you running...klass os a high grade wheel so its not the rime..and if your wheel is not shaking its not the balance...i understand that you dont want to get soft tires but both the pirreli and the toyos ride with lots of noise..there made to last foe high miles and grip better in the cold...i also understand that im not there with you so theres no way i can hear the noise....when you ride a 30 series tire thats what happens your almost forced to use a soft tire to filter out some of the noise....run your tire @ a lower tire pressure for a little while and see if this helps(people do it all the time)if it dosent help then over inflate the tire to a higher psi and see how the car responds....if neither helps then you now its not the tires....good luck...

ive re read your post and you stat that it happens from 65-80...it goes away because the faster you go the higher the pressure.....try the above method or wait until your tire gets broken in...

Ok. Right now i have it at about 40 PSI. Do you think i should drop down to about 35-30 PSI. Cause I have already tried the over inflating and that didnt work (44 PSI standard for the vehicle). Im getting out of the office in 10 min so i will let some air out if that is what you think it is

40 psi is high start @ 32psi and work up i think 44 psi is the standered max rating...not sure....i remember that i got the best ride when i ran 33-34psi all around...then again i had 19s so i dont know if that makes a diff........
