Your car won't work well with a staggered set up. You can search "staggered tires" and other combos like that to find out more on here. I think 18s are big enough for an S4, but some people like them bigger. I don't like the pimped out look, so you won't see me with any 20s on a small sedan. Plus once you go that bigthe ride goes to crap.

cant do staggered..effs up the quattro. i think 19 looks best on the b6 platform.. dont go bigger.. you could do 18 if you want the performance aspect.

you can't do staggered on a quattro because the rolling diameter would be different, but I don't quite understand how the width of the wheel would effect the rolling distance. If you have 18x8.5 in the front and 18x9 in the rear, with the proper tires wouldnt the rolling diameter be the same since they're both 18's?

technically your right, the width doesnt have anything to do with it.. however, if you run a different width, your running a different size tire.. which would alter the rolling diameter of the entire wheel. i.e. if you had 18x8.5 and 18x9 and you ran 235/35/18 and 245/40/18 you have two different rolling diameteres.. now you could use teh same tire size..but then..what is the point of having a wider back.
