Who has the highest mileage S4?
Just curious how long these cars tend to last...? Before major things like engine rebuilds, front/rear main seal replacements, transmission rebuilds, etc.
I've done a search and see a lot of 1st/2nd gear slide issues, blown turbos, but nothing too terribly expensive like an engine rebuild or complete transmission replacement, so... what is the highest mileage car out there and what's the worst (most expensive) repairs you've had to do?
Getting ready to buy one, thinking long-term, most of the '00 and '01 models I'm looking at in my price range tend to be 80-100k mile cars.

The highest-mileage B5 S4 I've seen yet was a single owner (older guy) 6-spd, 170k miles and still truckin'... Factory maintenance by the book since day 1.
Just curious how long these engines tend to go. A tranny rebuild doesn't bother me all THAT much, but my buddy does transmission work and can get the parts at cost so I'd only be down 3-4 days (a day for me to yank it, 2 for him to bench rebuild it at home after work each day, then a day for me to reinstall). Same with turbos, I can rebuild those myself.
Worried more about the engine, quality of aftermarket timing belt replacement kits, availability of parts during rebuild, etc. Plus I HATE rebuilding engines.
Come on, tell me whose got the highest-mileage S4 and how's the engine coming?
