Default WTF is going on??

So here in Michigan the temperatures are near 0 degrees F, and my headlights (HIDs) have been acting up. I don't know if its just coincidence or what, but recently the drivers side light will come on for awhile and then just shut off. If I turn the lights off and back on it'll come back on. And the amount of time it stays on is never the same. Anyone had a problem like this? Is it the ballast? I kind of checked the wiring and nothing seemed intermittent. Also, our cars have levelers for the lights right? Because ever since this happened, every now n then my headlights and brights will be pointed down in front of my car instead of ahead of it. Any help would be appreciated

You need a new bulb. My car reacted the same exact way, i thought it was the igniter because of the way it was acting up. Turned out to be the bulb.

Ok, thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to order a new one then.

What temperature did you end up going with? I had 8000K but am wondering about stepping up to 10,000K..except the light output is quite a bit less so I might not.

try ddmtuning.com. i know they're mainly a bmw website but you can still order hid bulbs from them in any temp you want. i just bought a pair of 6000k for 35 dollars. their chrome/amber bulbs are also on sale for 10$. and if you want to rig up hids to your fogs they have kits for that too.

ecstuning has a ton of bulbs that are pretty cheap, just bought some new fogs from there to match the HIDs.

I went with the 6000K. Im not in love with the higher temps because the color begins to turn blue.
Its all preference

Agreed, the high temp. bulbs have too much of an aftermarket look for my taste also.

I think 6000k is a good choice. Should be a nice pure white.
