I wanted some guidance with a car I'm interested in purchasing. It is a 2008 S5 priced at $14k. It is so low because it has 209k miles. Everything else about it is super clean and the owner has never had any issues except the back up camera going out. He's replaced that though. Can anyone give me any advice to whether or not I should stay away from this high mileage vehicle or what should I expect to fail mechanically at the ~200k miles point? Thanks a lot.

 

Ask about oil consumption... I bet it takes about a quart every time he fills up the gas tank. Ask me how I know (my '06 S4 has 182K miles). Truth be told, I think you are in some uncharted territory as far as that engine with that mileage.
